Sessions and limits

How a session runs: 1 to 24 hours, a cost ceiling per session, automatic end, deletion of the machine, interruptible capacity.

Lifecycle

Status Meaning
Confirmed Booked. The cost of the duration is held. Start the machine.
Provisioning The machine is being created. About 2 minutes.
Session active SSH is open. Billing runs per minute.
Releasing resources Billing has stopped. The machine is being deleted.
Completed Deletion confirmed.

Other end states: Cancelled (cancelled before or during provisioning), Expired (never started within the booked window), Interrupted (machine reclaimed), Failed (machine could not be provided).

Every action is recorded in Journal, the append-only log of your organization.

Duration

  • Book from 1 to 24 hours, in whole hours.
  • The window starts at booking and ends at booking time plus the duration.
  • Start the machine within that window. A window that runs out unstarted expires, without charge.
  • Need more time? Book a new session before the current one ends and move your work.

Ceilings

  • Per session. Every session has a maximum cost. The booking form shows it and refuses a duration above it. Shorten the duration.
  • Credit. A booking whose full cost exceeds your available credit is refused.

End of session

A session ends when:

  • you select End session,
  • the booked time is up,
  • the provider reclaims an interruptible machine.

Billing stops at that moment. The machine and its disk are then deleted at the provider. The session shows Completed once the provider confirms the deletion.

Your data

Everything on the machine is deleted with it: files, models, caches, environments. Nothing carries over to the next session.

  • Copy results out before the end: rsync, scp, or upload to your own storage.
  • Save checkpoints on a schedule for jobs longer than a few minutes.
  • Keep setup in a script so a new machine is ready in one command.

Interruptible machines

Offers marked interruptible run on spot capacity. The provider can reclaim the machine at any time.

  • When reclaimed, the session ends as Interrupted and billing stops.
  • You pay only for the minutes used.
  • Checkpoint often. Make jobs resumable.

Pick a non-interruptible offer for interactive work and anything that cannot restart.

Failed starts

Stock is checked again when you start. If the GPU is gone, or the machine is not ready within 15 minutes, the session fails and nothing is charged. Book another offer.

What is not allowed

Mining, spam, scanning, attacks, illegal content. See the terms.
