Providers

Connect your NVIDIA machines to the provider program: outbound-only agent, one-time pairing code, Ed25519 key that stays on the machine, platform review.

Connect your own GPU machines to the Node Lodge provider program. The Compute Host agent reports hardware and heartbeats. It opens no port and executes nothing.

Requirements

OS Windows, Linux or macOS
Runtime Node.js 22 or later
Account A standard user. Never administrator or root: the agent refuses to run elevated.
Network Outbound HTTPS to nodelodge.com. No inbound port.
GPU NVIDIA, detected through nvidia-smi

What the agent collects

CPU, memory, GPU model and VRAM, disk sizes. GPU identifiers are hashed.

Never collected: hostname, user names, IP or MAC addresses, serial numbers, files.

1. Preview

See exactly what will be reported. Nothing is sent:

node compute-host.mjs inventory

Run the read-only self-test (privileges, GPU, inventory, API reachability, clock):

node compute-host.mjs doctor --api https://nodelodge.com

2. Pair

  1. In the console, open Machines → Pair a machine.
  2. Name the machine. Avoid personal details in the name.
  3. Select Generate pairing code.

The page gives the commands to download the agent (with its SHA-256 check) and to pair:

node compute-host.mjs enroll --api https://nodelodge.com --code 7KQ2-M9XH-4TPA
  • The code is single use and expires after 15 minutes.
  • The agent generates an Ed25519 key pair on the machine. Only the public key is sent.
  • Every later request is signed with that key, timestamped and protected against replay.

The console shows Paired as soon as the machine checks in.

3. Review

The platform reviews the reported hardware. Status: pending approval, then approved or rejected.

4. Online

Keep the agent running:

node compute-host.mjs run
  • Signed heartbeat every 30 seconds.
  • Hardware inventory at start, then every 6 hours. A new snapshot is stored only when the hardware changes.
  • A machine without a heartbeat for 90 seconds shows offline.

Manage

node compute-host.mjs status # local enrollment
node compute-host.mjs forget # delete the local identity

From the console:

  • Disable takes the machine out of the provider program. Re-enable at any time.
  • Revoke invalidates the machine key permanently. Pair again with a new code to come back.

After forget, revoke the machine in the console too.

Security model

  • No listening port, no command channel: the platform cannot run anything on your machine.
  • External programs limited to a fixed list (nvidia-smi, system inventory tools), constant arguments, no shell.
  • Private key stored with user-only permissions.
  • HTTPS required. Redirects refused.
